Will this work if my dogs are very different sizes?
Yes — the RoamDuo is designed for dogs up to 50lbs per line, and each line retracts independently so a smaller dog and a larger dog can walk at completely different paces without pulling each other around. The key is that each dog is on their own separate line, not attached to each other.
My dogs are strong pullers. Will this hold up?
The RoamDuo handles confident walkers very well up to the 50lb per dog limit. If you have a very large or exceptionally powerful breed over that threshold we'd recommend pairing it with a no-pull harness for best results. For small to medium dogs it holds up to daily heavy use with no issues.
How do the lock buttons work?
Each side of the handle has its own independent lock button — one for each dog. You can let both dogs roam freely, lock one while the other explores, or lock both instantly when you need full control. It takes one or two walks to get the feel for it and then it becomes completely natural.
